Exploring street markets is a great way of getting to know a city and its local people, colours and flavours. There are quite a few street markets in Costa del Sol. In these markets, which always take place from about 9 to 14 o’clock, in addition to food above all textile and leather goods as well as shoes, in addition, flowers, jewelery electronics articles and much more are offered.
In the following overview we have listed for you the street markets (Mercadillos) in the area of Algarrobo, Almuñécar, Cómpeta, Sayalonga, Torre del Mar and Torrox respectively Torrox Costa, sorted alphabetically by city and village name.
Street markets in Algarrobo Costa
Small, manageable street market across from the Lidl, so very convenient, because you can go shopping and then or before something about the market can stroll.
The parking lot of Lidl is then but also quite full or crowded

Street markets in Almuñécar
The street market in Almuñécar is quite large and there is something for everyone, be it food, clothes, shoes, ceramics ….
The street market is right on the main thoroughfare (Arco de Triunfo “Paseo Blas Infante” – Av. Fenicia, 38) in a small palm grove that is otherwise used as a parking lot.

Street markets Caleta de Vélez
The market is certainly one of the most interesting markets in the area because, like the market of Torrox Costa, it is very large and many stalls offer their goods (food, clothes, shoes, ceramics …).
The weekly market of Caleta de Vélez (Av. De Andalucía) is built every Saturday on the old N340 just before the exit towards Torre del Mar.

Street markets in Cómpeta
Realtiv small, but quite interesting street market in the mountains of the Axarquía. But who here so many stalls like in Caleta de Velez or Torrox Costa, which is out of place. More for those who prefer to shop and then enjoy a coffee or Cómpeta.
The street market can be found at the large car park in the center of Competa.

Street markets in Nerja
The market in Nerja is more of a kind of flea market, a bit hard to find, but quite interesting. Here are also many second hand things offered.
At the last roundabout in Nerja (direction Maro) turn left and then ask again.

Street markets in Sayalonga
Small market, similar to that of Cómpeta, very nice but not necessarily worth a longer drive.
The market is located on the main square, easy to park in the streets, which is off the main road (last street on the right up, at the garbage cans).

Street markets in Torre del Mar
Very large and extremely well-visited streety market with lots of stalls and goods of any kind. Highly recommended.
The street market takes place in a crossroads ( Calle Duque de Ahumada span>) to the promenade, quite at the western end of Torre del Mar.
- When: Thursdays (09:00 – 14:00)
Street markets in Torrox Costa
Large, long-drawn street market with many different stalls. Whether you are looking for clothes of any kind, toys, fruits, spices or anything else, here in Torrox Costa almost everything is offered.
The street market takes place in the street (Av. Esperanto), which runs parallel to the old N340, starting with the Iberostar Málaga Hotel.
